New Military Exercises Involving Russia to Be Held in Conflict Zone

Joint military exercises involving Russian, Uzbek, and Tajik servicemen will take place from August 5-10 at the Harb-Maidon training ground in Tajikistan, located 20 km from the Afghan border. This was reported to journalists by Colonel General Alexander Lapin, the commander of the Central Military District.

“At the beginning of August, we will participate in joint exercises at Harb-Maidon, with the involvement of the military units of the Tajik and Uzbek armed forces. During the exercises, we will work on preparing military operations by joint forces to eliminate illegal armed groups that infiltrate the territory of the union state,” Lapin stated. The number of servicemen involved in the exercises has not yet been disclosed.
