Ministry Refutes Arshakyan: No Exhibits in Abu Dhabi, Russians Have Been 'Examining' Them for 5 Months

The Ministry of High-Tech Industry has denied the statements made by former minister Hakob Arshakyan, who claimed to journalists in February of this year that certain Armenian exhibits for the "IDEX-2021" international military exhibition in Abu Dhabi had made it to the venue by alternative means despite logistical difficulties.

“Yes, we had logistical issues. Some exhibits made it by other means, but we faced problems with the majority of the exhibits,” the then Minister of High-Tech Industry had stated to reporters on February 25 (in a video).

However, according to the Ministry, no Armenian exhibit was displayed in Abu Dhabi, and all 23 specimens remained in Russia. “Hetq” reported that the Armenian pavilion at the renowned exhibition held from February 21-25 in Abu Dhabi was left without any exhibits because the responsible parties were extremely negligent in their duties.

Armenia reportedly spent around 144 million drams to participate in the exhibition, with 14 companies from the country attending, yet they had nothing to showcase at this major event. The reason was that the 23 specimens sent via Russian airline Aeroflot from Yerevan to Moscow to Abu Dhabi remained in Moscow.
