The European Union Rushes to Build the Sisian-Agarak Road, Political Scientist Gagik Hambaryan

On July 17, it became known that an announcement will soon be made regarding the construction tender for the Sisian-Agarak section of the "North-South Corridor Investment Program," for which the EU is allocating 600 million euros. This was reported by political scientist Gagik Hambaryan on his Facebook page.

“Many are pleased with this news, but studying the specifics of the road to be constructed reveals why the EU is rushing to build this particular section of the ‘North-South’ road and is willing to pay for it. The answer is quite simple: the Europeans are not interested in the road connecting Yerevan to Iran, but rather in constructing a new road that will be far from the newly developed Armenian-Azerbaijani border, thus making the route from Goris to Kapan safer. Following Nikol Pashinyan’s disgraceful capitulation signed on November 9, 2020, the existing road from Goris to Kapan passes through areas gifted to Azerbaijan by Nikol, making it not only unsafe for Armenians but also humiliating.

Being well aware that Pashinyan will constantly face problems due to this and will always be reminded that he is a traitorous betrayer who created significant security issues for the people of Syunik, the EU has decided to kill several birds with one stone. With 600 million euros for the ‘North-South’ road, the EU will also ensure the connection between Goris and Kapan (marked in blue on the map), create new job opportunities, soften the dire social situation, and halt the massive outflow of people from Syunik.

The EU’s program of 2.6 billion euros to be implemented in Armenia is also seen as a bribe to Armenians, most of whom, lacking a state mindset, gladly accepted the loss of 75 percent of Artsakh and allowed Nikol to be re-elected as Prime Minister.

It turned out that the European Union values Nikol Pashinyan’s clandestine surrender of Artsakh to Azerbaijan, the massacre of around 5,000 soldiers, the disabling of over ten thousand individuals, and the other calamities that have befallen Armenians at a price of 2.6 billion euros.

If the European Union truly wanted to help Armenia altruistically, they would have done so immediately after Nikol came to power in 2018, rather than after the loss of Artsakh and the humiliation of Armenia by Baku.

By providing this assistance, the EU is also thanking the traitor Nikol, who during the 44-day war did not damage the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and the Baku-Erzurum gas pipeline, which, during the war, generated millions of dollars in profits for participants in these projects, including influential EU countries and Great Britain.

Meanwhile, the Russians will regret thinking that Nikol is in their pocket.

By the way, always remember that free cheese is only found in a mousetrap. Neither Europe, nor the USA, nor Russia is doing anything for us for free, nor have they done so, nor will they do so,” wrote Hambaryan.
