Sisian Mayor Arrested

At 7 PM, Sisian Mayor Artur Sargsyan was summoned to the Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC). Earlier in the day, the Central Electoral Commission had stripped him of immunity. This was reported by Hraparak.

“He has been arrested at the ACC and transferred to a detention facility. It should be noted that most of the mayors in Syunik, who are members of the Armenia alliance, have been detained or arrested. Under such conditions of political persecution, a confrontation between the ruling majority and the opposition in the new parliament is inevitable. Nikol Pashinyan continues to wield the hammer,” the report states.
