43-Year-Old Driver Falls into River in Syunik with Nissan X-Trail: One Injured

On July 16, a major traffic accident occurred in the Syunik region. At around 10:00 AM, 43-year-old Arsen Harutyunyan, a resident of Syunik, lost control of his Nissan X-Trail while driving on the Megrik-Kapan highway, approximately 15 km from Megrik. The vehicle veered off the roadway, rolled for about 40 meters, flipping several times before ending up in the river, according to shamshyan.com.

As a result of the accident, driver A. Harutyunyan was transported to the Megrik Medical Center for medical examination.

The rescue operation was promptly initiated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations, with the Megrik Fire and Rescue Team No. 56 arriving with one firefighting unit. The firefighters deactivated the vehicle, closed the gas cylinder valve, and cordoned off the area.

Personnel from the 2nd Company of the 6th Battalion of the Road Police also arrived quickly, led by Battalion Commander Gegham Margaryan. An investigation is being conducted into the incident by the senior investigator of the same unit.
