Person Recovering from Coronavirus Can Get Infected Again with New Strain Immediately After Recovery
Infectious disease specialist Svetlana Ishchenko has stated that an individual who has already contracted and recovered from the coronavirus can be reinfected with a new strain of the virus immediately after recovery. This was reported by the TASS news agency.
“After overcoming the infection, the protective G immunoglobulin or antibodies typically last for six months. However, the coronavirus is constantly mutating. It turns out that a person is protected from one strain, but can get infected with another strain right after recovering,” she said. Furthermore, reinfection is likely to occur in a milder form.
