In Our Country, the Poorest Class is the MPs, Unsatisfied with Salaries Reaching 1 Million
Yesterday, the parliament convened an extraordinary session, which included a controversial bill proposed by My Step member Viktor Yengibaryan.
Yengibaryan suggests increasing the monthly compensation for MPs from 50,000 dram to 250,000 dram. According to Hraparak newspaper, it appears that in our country, the poorest class is the MPs, who are not satisfied with their salaries ranging from 600,000 to 1 million dram, plus monthly bonuses amounting to 30% of their salary. Now, they are also looking to quintuple their 'pocket money', as the monthly 50,000 dram is commonly referred to among parliamentarians as 'hand money'.
By the way, there has been a vigorous 'emigration' in the parliament in recent days. Former staff, including parliamentary assistants and candidates who did not pass the elections, have been notified to vacate their offices by mid-month, allowing new staff to undertake cosmetic renovations, furnish, and settle in.
