Tragic Car Accident on Yerevan-Ararat Highway: Three People Dead at the Scene

A tragic car accident occurred today, July 14, in the Ararat region. At approximately 9:00 PM, vehicles of Samand and Volkswagen brands collided under still unclear circumstances in the administrative area of the village of Ptghunk on the Yerevan-Ararat highway.

According to Shamshyan, three individuals died at the scene as a result of the crash. An investigation has been initiated at the Vagharshapat investigative division under Article 242, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (a traffic accident resulting in the death of two or more persons through negligence).

The police and the investigation division are currently working to identify the drivers and the deceased. The Samand vehicle is registered under the accounting of the Armenian Police’s State Protection Department, and according to preliminary reports, two of the deceased are police officers, while one is a civilian.
