The Condition is Severe, But We Hope She Will Survive: Doctor on Newborn Found Near a Building on Artsakh Street in Yerevan

The child is in a severe condition, and we will be able to fully assess her health status in a week. This was stated by Hrant Kalenteryan, the head of the Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Muratsan University Hospital Complex, while speaking with Tert.am about the newborn baby found today near one of the entrances to the building on Artsakh Street in Yerevan.

According to him, the newborn was discovered near the hospital's entrance, and the police promptly brought her to the hospital. “It is unclear who abandoned her; I do not have information about the parents. She is an infected child with respiratory insufficiency; her condition is severe, but not critical. We hope that the newborn will survive. Compared to yesterday, we observe a slight positive dynamic today; she is a bit better,” he noted.

The doctor added that the child will be transferred to an orphanage once she recovers.
