Former Husband of Alla Pugacheva Passes Away
At the age of 77, director, actor, and screenwriter Alexander Stefanovich, the former husband of singer Alla Pugacheva, has passed away. This information was shared on July 13 by Ekaterina Golovnina, the director of the Russian House of Cinema, on her Facebook page.
Stefanovich died in the intensive care unit, where he had been hospitalized the previous day due to lung complications. Earlier in July, the ex-husband of the Primadonna of the Russian pop scene was rushed to the hospital for coronavirus. He had contracted the virus at the end of June but had delayed seeking medical help for a long time. When his condition worsened, an ambulance took him to the hospital.
Alexander Stefanovich was born on December 13, 1944, in Moscow. He graduated from the directing department of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography in 1969 and began working as a director at Mosfilm the following year. He wrote more than 70 scripts and is believed to have played a significant role in shaping Alla Pugacheva's stage persona.
Stefanovich was Pugacheva’s second husband, and they were married for three years, from December 1977 to December 1980.
