Azerbaijan and Turkey to Increase Joint Military Exercises

Azerbaijan and Turkey intend to increase the number of joint military exercises. This was announced by Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov during a meeting with Turkish Ambassador Cahit Bağcı. Local media report on the details.

According to Hasanov, reforms aimed at aligning the Azerbaijani army with the standards of the Turkish Armed Forces are ongoing in Azerbaijan. The official stated that it is planned to increase the number of joint exercises, involving various types of troops, including the special forces of both countries.

He also praised the level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in military, military-technical, and military-educational sectors, expressing gratitude to the Turkish side for supporting military personnel training.

The ambassador, in turn, stated that he would make every effort to enhance Azerbaijani-Turkish relations, particularly in developing military cooperation.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of this year, Ankara and Baku have conducted several exercises involving various types of troops, with some of the trainings taking place near the border with Armenia.
