The Director of the Holy See Press Office, Matteo Bruni, has provided the latest updates regarding Pope Francis, who is currently in the hospital following intestinal surgery, as reported by vaticannews.va.

He mentioned that "the Holy Father continues his planned treatment and recovery, which will allow him to return to the Vatican as soon as possible." The statement further noted, "During these days, he has especially kept in mind those patients who are bedridden and cannot return home."

Pope Francis, who underwent intestinal surgery on July 4 at a hospital in Rome, will remain in the hospital for several more days. The 84-year-old pontiff's surgery was performed by Professor Sergio Alfieri.
