Young Man Who Fired Shots at Dogs Turns Himself In to Police with Assault Rifle
On July 7, at 22:20, a citizen called the Nairi police department to report that someone was shooting at dogs in the village of Kasakh. The police have stated that as a result of measures taken to verify the alarm, on July 8, information was received at the community police department of the Nairi division that a 28-year-old resident of the same village had fired shots from the interior of his "VAZ-2121" vehicle at the intersection of Safaryan and Youth Streets in Kasakh.
The young man's father presented the "VAZ-2121" to the police station, where a cartridge of an assault rifle was found inside the vehicle upon inspection. The car was then moved to a special protective area of the division.
As a result of the explanatory work carried out by the personnel of the Nairi division and the head office of the police, the 28-year-old young man turned himself in to the Nairi division. He handed over an "AKM" assault rifle and a magazine containing 19 rounds of 7.62 mm caliber and stated that he obtained the rifle during the defensive battles in Artsakh. He also mentioned that he fired shots in the air to protect himself from stray dogs. The assault rifle has been confiscated. Materials are being prepared for further investigation.
