Pashinyan Meets with Leaders of 10 Political Forces Outside Parliament
The acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with leaders of approximately ten political forces outside the parliament. Among the attendees were the leader of the Liberal Party Samvel Babayan, the leader of the 'Alliance' Progressive Centrist Party Tigran Urikhanyan, the leader of the 'Just Armenia' Party Norayr Norikyan, the leader of the 'Sovereign Armenia' Party Davit Sanasaryan, Tigran Arzakantsyan from the Democratic Party of Armenia, the leader of the European Party of Armenia Tigran Khzmalyan, the President of the Christian Democratic Party of Armenia Levon Shirinyan, the President of the 'Unified Homeland' Party Mher Terteryan, the leader of the Conservative Party Mikayel Hayrapetyan, and the secretary of the Social Democratic Hunchakian Party of Armenia Sedrak Achemyan.
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed gratitude to the attendees for accepting the invitation to the meeting. 'I would like to inform you, purely from an organizational point of view, that agreements were also reached with several other parties in advance, but the head of the 'Republic' Party Mr. Sargsyan and the President of the 'Enlightened Armenia' Party Edmon Marukyan are not in the country. Nevertheless, we decided to hold the meeting because we agreed that the first meeting must be organized within a 15-day timeframe. I believe we should reach an agreement on our future actions today because, as we have agreed, the first meeting will be purely organizational in nature, allowing us to hear opinions on how we will work together.
We must strive to establish a permanent operating format with my participation and the representation of parliamentary forces. We view this as a platform for discussing the agenda of our public, political, and economic life, and, if you will, a place for brainstorming where we can discuss all possible issues,' Pashinyan stated.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on the future activities of the newly formed format, the shaping of meeting agendas, and procedural matters. It was decided that the first session with the participation of Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the leaders of the extra-parliamentary political forces will be held shortly.
