Pandemic Situation in Armenia Has Been Manageable in Recent Months: Avanesyan
The pandemic situation due to the coronavirus in Armenia has been quite manageable in the past two to three months, and the Ministry of Health must do everything to maintain the fact of being in a green zone and to keep a favorable situation in the future.
Acting Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated this during a meeting with journalists on July 9, according to Armenpress.
"The pandemic is a significant health burden and challenge, and we understand that maintaining a stable situation is extremely important for the regular functioning of the country's economy as well," said Avanesyan.
She recalled that out of 4,046 tests conducted in one day, 148 positive cases were confirmed. "At this moment, we are maintaining a positivity rate of up to 4 percent in daily testing, which is quite good, although we are noting an increase in the reproduction rate and overall numbers. A week or two ago, the figures were lower," emphasized the acting minister.
Avanesyan noted that currently operational healthcare facilities from repurposed COVID centers include St. Grigor Lusavorich Hospital, Avan branch, Spitak Medical Center, Kapan Hospital, and Norq Infectious Disease Hospital.
"Within this minimal capacity, we are able to provide proper medical assistance to citizens," Avanesyan emphasized.
