No Clear Information Provided on the Whereabouts of Kapan Mayor: Lawyer

The Mayor of Kapan, Manvel Paramazyan, is not currently present at the Investigative Department of the National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia. His lawyer, Yervand Varosyan, made this statement on his Facebook page.

“No clear information is being provided regarding his whereabouts. The Office of the Human Rights Defender has been informed by the NSS Investigative Department that he should be presented at the department, but it is unknown when,” he posted.

It is worth noting that since this morning, NSS employees have been conducting searches at the apartment and vehicle of the Kapan mayor, after which he has been detained. Searches have also been conducted at the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, resulting in one person being arrested.
