Families of Posthumously Awarded National Heroes and Recipients of the 'Battle Cross' to Receive Compensation
Families of individuals who were killed while performing their duties during the defense of the Republic of Armenia and were awarded the highest title of 'National Hero of Armenia' posthumously or honored with the 'Battle Cross' by a presidential decree are entitled to compensation.
The family of a posthumously awarded 'National Hero of Armenia' will receive 250,000 AMD, while the family of a first-degree 'Battle Cross' recipient will receive 150,000 AMD, and the family of a second-degree 'Battle Cross' recipient will receive 100,000 AMD. The compensation is designated for one family member of the deceased but is intended for all family members.
In this case, the family members considered are the parents, spouse, and children of the deceased who are registered at the residential address in Armenia. This includes children under the age of 18, and those over 18 who are recognized as disabled.
The applicant for the compensation must submit a request along with various documents to the local branch of the Unified Social Service. Required documents include proof of identity, a statement about previous awards, the birth certificate of the deceased, and any relevant documents establishing family relationships.
Upon the family member's request and submission of a personal application, it may be possible to divide their share, which will be calculated by dividing the compensation amount by the number of family members eligible for the compensation.
