Video: Case of bezoar goat poaching revealed, director of 'Hayantar' branch arrested
On July 2, law enforcement officers of the Vayots Dzor regional department of police and the Yeghegnadzor division received operational information that the director of one of the branches of the 'Hayantar' State Non-Commercial Organization had poached a bezoar goat in an area known as 'Ardaraz' near the village of Elpin and was driving towards Elpin in a 'UAZ' vehicle.
As a result of joint actions by the police's Vayots Dzor regional department and the territorial division of the 'Armenian Forestry Agency,' an attempt was made to stop the 'UAZ' vehicle in an area known as 'Zagha' in Elpin. During the pursuit, the driver parked the vehicle in a place called 'Kari Tak' in Elpin and attempted to flee.
Upon inspection of the specified location, the poaching deed was discovered in the river. The director of the 'Hayantar' branch, who arrived at the scene, stated that the bezoar goat had been poached by one of the forest guards. Both the director and the forest guard were taken to the Yeghegnadzor police department.
A criminal case has been initiated, and the director of the 'Hayantar' branch has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
