Azerbaijan Returned Livestock After Negotiations with Russian Peacekeepers, Says Khnatsakh Community Leader
According to Anushavan Hovakimyan, the head of the Khnatsakh community in Syunik Province, livestock crossed the border slightly around 6:30 AM from positions close to our village, and the Azerbaijanis took the opportunity and were unwilling to return three heads of livestock.
“As a result of negotiations with the Russian peacekeepers, the livestock were returned after 2-3 hours. Animals often get confused in the area—they instinctively graze in their former territories,” he stated.
When asked if there was information that a father and son had taken the livestock to the field, the community leader mentioned that the Azerbaijanis had not informed the villagers of anything, but that the son usually helps his father. “But by the time I arrived, only the father was there,” he added.
