The Health Condition of the Newborn Found Near the Gyumri Bus Station is Stabilizing
The newborn found near the Gyumri bus station continues to remain in the intensive care unit of the Austrian Mother and Child Hospital in Gyumri. His health condition is stabilizing. Margarita Harutyunyan, a doctor at the hospital’s intensive care unit, informed Armenpress about this.
“Yesterday, he had a slight fever, but today he is normal; his condition is stabilizing, and there is positive progress. If we can confirm that he no longer has a fever and is gaining weight, we will transfer the baby from the intensive care unit,” said Harutyunyan.
On the morning of July 3, a newborn boy just hours old was left under one of the walls in the Gyumri Bus Station neighborhood. A passerby noticed the baby after hearing his cries. He approached and saw that the baby was moving and immediately alerted the police and ambulance services.
Around 10:30 AM, the newborn was transported by ambulance to the Austrian Mother and Child Hospital in Gyumri. He weighs 3,100 grams and is 51 cm tall. The child is healthy. A criminal case has been initiated concerning the fact of abandoning the newborn under Article 34-106 of the RA Criminal Code.
