Armenian Prisoners of War Testify in Baku's Serious Crimes Court
On July 5, the trial of 13 Armenian prisoners of war continues at Baku's Serious Crimes Court, according to haqqin.az.
The defendants include Rafik Robert Karapetian, Gurgen Hovhannes Qolayan, Hrayr Seryozha Tadevosyan, Vagarshak Meruzhan Maloyan, Sasun Seyrani Yeghiazaryan, Arsen Arayik Vardanyan, Vahagn Ediki Bakhriykan, Sedrak Samveli Sogomonian, Armen Vazgen Dilyan, Manuk Hovhannes Martonyan, Mels Karapeti Anbardanian, Andranik Vazgen Mikaelyan, and Felix Arshaki Grigoryan.
During the session chaired by Judge Azad Mejidov, the defendants are giving their testimonies.
According to the prosecution, the defendants "illegally acquired weapons, ammunition, explosives, and devices, and crossed the state border of Azerbaijan unlawfully on November 17, 2020, occupying positions in the forest area of Hadrut while carrying out diversions" (quotation marks - Ed.). If the charges are proven in court, they face 14 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
