Israel Strikes Hamas Weapon Factory in Gaza

Israeli Air Force fighters have launched strikes against a weapon factory of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip. This has been reported by the army's press service on their Twitter page.

The attack is in response to the launch of incendiary balloons and explosives towards the Jewish state.

At the beginning of May, tensions escalated between the parties. At that time, Israeli authorities began evicting Arab families in East Jerusalem, which fueled unrest among Palestinians. On May 10, the situation drew intervention from Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip. The parties exchanged intense rocket fire.

The shelling, which ceased on May 21 after a ceasefire agreement was reached, claimed 12 lives in Israel, and left 50 others injured. The number of Palestinian casualties has reached 230, including 65 minors. More than 1,700 people have been injured.
