I Will Not Stay in the National Assembly: Mikitar Hayrapetyan on His Future Activities
The newspaper "Iravunk" reports: "It is actively circulating in the media that Mikitar Hayrapetyan, the chairman of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sports of the National Assembly, who occupies the last place on the electoral list of the ruling 'Civil Contract' party, number 157, may either be appointed as the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia or as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Moreover, these discussions are taking place against the backdrop of a government session yesterday, during which Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan became so irritated with acting Minister Vahram Dumanyan for not directly fulfilling his promises-instructions, that he turned off Dumanyan's microphone.
When "Iravunk" inquired about which position Hayrapetyan is actually aiming for, he commented:
- The media has already assigned you several positions, what do you say about this?
- I follow the media, but I have no comment on this matter.
- Is there a decision that you will be moving to the executive?
- I can at least say that judging by my position, I will not be staying in the National Assembly.
- Do you regret leaving parliamentary work?
- No, I have no comment on the remaining questions.
