Azerbaijanis Are Conducting Operations Related to the Tartar River, Environmentalist Claims

Environmental activist and journalist Narine Kirakosyan wrote on her Facebook page: “Dear friends, this time my visit is related to the water resources of Artsakh. I received alarming reports from Artsakh residents that Azerbaijanis are conducting some operations concerning the Tartar River. The water is becoming murky, and the road that passes through the Armenian village of Getavan is being used by the Azerbaijani side to transport heavy machinery. This pertains to the movement of Tartar River water via the old road leading from Karvachar to the former Gandzak/Kirovabad. Some people considered my concerns unbelievable. Now I have more evidence that the water is not being transported kilometers through the mountains of Mrov, but rather through the section leading to the former Kirovabad (Yanmagh-Chopurlu). It is assumed that they will construct a reservoir to ensure the natural flow of the river's diversion. More details will follow in my video report. But already, both the Tartar River is muddy and the Sarsang reservoir, which only feeds from the Tartar, is low on water compared to previous years. Additionally, large boulders are being taken by the Azerbaijanis from the Karvachar side.”
