Artsakh Foreign Ministry Welcomes New Jersey's Recognition of Self-Determination Rights and Independence

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh has welcomed the recognition of the Republic of Artsakh's right to self-determination and independence by the state of New Jersey in the United States.

The Artsakh Foreign Ministry issued a statement, which is presented below. "The relevant resolution adopted by the state Senate condemns the 1915 Genocide, decades-long anti-Armenian policies of Azerbaijan, and the large-scale war unleashed against the Republic of Artsakh in 2020 by Turkey, Azerbaijan, and international terrorists, effectively considering them as components of a single genocidal policy," the statement reads.

The state of New Jersey recognized Artsakh's independence on June 30. The New Jersey Senate unanimously adopted resolution number 71. In addition to recognizing Artsakh, the Senate condemned Turkey and Azerbaijan for their aggression against the peaceful population of Artsakh and Armenia and reaffirmed the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

New Jersey is the 10th U.S. state to recognize the independence of Artsakh.
