Another 13 Shiraz Prisoners' Indictment Published in Baku
The Baku Serious Crimes Court continues today with the next hearing regarding the fabricated criminal case against another 13 Shiraz prisoners of war, presided over by Judge Azat Mejido.
According to the Azerbaijani news outlet Trend, the 13 Armenian prisoners of war include Rafik Karapetyan, Gurgen Galoyan, Hrayer Tadevosyan, Vagharchak Maloyan, Sasun Yeghiazaryan, Arsen Vardanyan, Vahagn Baghriyan, Sedrak Soghomonyan, Armen Dilyan, Manuk Martonyan, Mels Anbartanyan, Andranik Mikayelyan, and Felix Grigoryan.
The prosecutor read the indictment, claiming that the Armenian prisoners allegedly “illegally acquired weapons, ammunition, and explosives, formed an armed group, and unlawfully crossed the state border on November 17, capturing positions in the forests of Hadrut.”
The indictment states that the Armenian prisoners “carried out terrorist acts.” It was also announced that if the charges are confirmed, the Armenian prisoners face 14 to 20 years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The media adds that a recess has been announced, after which the defendants will give testimonies.
