Zarukyan Reports Wrongly Informed on Situation: ‘Hraparak’

According to reports, Gagik Zarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) who faced defeat in these elections, is particularly upset with the head of the party’s youth wing, Ashot Andreasian. Throughout the pre-election period, Andreasian conducted social surveys and assured Zarukyan, saying, 'Boss, everything will be fine, there's nothing to worry about.'

Based on these surveys, BHK reportedly had a 23 percent rating in Yerevan and over 30 percent in the regions, leading the party to feel relaxed and refrain from making extra efforts, believing that victory was already in their pocket. Moreover, territorial officials had promised to deliver tens of thousands of votes but did not fulfill their commitments.

Very few individuals on the BHK list worked diligently. Everyone had hoped that the results of Zarukyan's previous charitable acts would pay off, expecting to secure many votes in rural areas and thereby ensure their passage to the parliament was secure.
