Over 100 People Have Died Due to Record Heat in Canada

In British Columbia, Canada, an anomalously high heat wave over the last 48 hours may have led to the deaths of more than 100 individuals. This information was reported by CBC, referencing local police.

Over the past two days, police departments in Vancouver, Burnaby, and Surrey received more than 100 calls related to sudden deaths. Many of the deceased were retirees.

In the town of Lytton, a temperature record was recorded at 49 degrees Celsius. The unusual heat is expected to persist in some areas of the country until the end of the week.
