Opponents of Gay Parade in Tbilisi Demand Expulsion of US Ambassador from Georgia

On July 5, opponents of the LGBT activists and their supporters' parade in Tbilisi announced they would set up tents on Rustaveli Avenue on July 4 to disrupt the event, according to vz.ru.

Guram Palavandishvili, a representative of the "Society for the Protection of Children's Rights," stated that "the will of the Georgian people implies that citizens should not allow the holding of a march that violates dignity."

According to reports, Palavandishvili and his supporters held rallies outside the US Embassy and the European Union Delegation in Georgia today, demanding the expulsion of representatives from these diplomatic missions.

"For us, family and traditions are important. Do not attack them (the parade participants), just remove them from here," declared Georgian businessman and millionaire Levan Vasadze.
