If it weren't for the recent interventions by this government, we would have lost Yerevan in a short time: Aghazaryan
It is very ugly and offensive, especially when you represent the government and walk down the street, people look at you and point with their eyes at the structure that has already entered the middle of the street, asking who you are and what you represent.
This was stated today by Hovik Aghazaryan, a member of the "My Step" faction, during his speech in the National Assembly, referring to the draft law on amending the Civil Code, which proposes that unauthorized constructions on community and state land should not be subject to legalization.
The draft also proposes that the costs for dismantling unauthorized constructions be borne entirely by the developer, regardless of who performs the demolition work.
“I once told some of those guys that if I'm not elected next time, you will crush my head on this asphalt, I know it, but I don’t care, this needs to be dismantled,” he said, noting that some lawyers use the term unauthorized constructions in a way that implies a positive phenomenon.
“If it weren’t for the recent interventions by this government, we would have lost Yerevan in a short time, it would have been completely covered with unauthorized constructions, and then we would have been thinking about what to do,” Aghazaryan stressed.
