What You Need to Know When Crossing the Armenia-Georgia Border by Train: Important Information
Auroranews correspondent crossed the Armenia-Georgia border by train yesterday and is now sharing several important and useful pieces of information that we believe will be helpful to everyone.
Starting from the Ayroum border station of the South Caucasus Railway, Armenian border guards check passengers' information using a computer and passport scanner, confirming exit from Armenia with a stamp.
On the Georgian side, customs officers at Sadakhlo first check passports, asking questions about where and why the traveler is going, and what luggage they have.
The next step is a random inspection of belongings (we were asked to open only one suitcase, but the items inside were not checked, just a quick look at the top). Then, an inspector enters and examines passports, vaccination dates, and the presence of a PCR test, checking whether the PCR test is still valid (72 hours).
After that, everyone gets out of the vehicles and goes to the window where they submit their PCR test results and vaccination certificates (if available). Next, entry stamps are applied. Those who only have PCR test results must take another PCR test on the third day upon arrival in Georgia, while those who also have a vaccination certificate need not take the second test.
We wish you all interesting travels!
