Positions are being distributed within the CP without Pashinyan's involvement: who has what ambitions

According to sources, there is a process of distributing positions within the 'Civil Contract' party these days, but without the participation of acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Specifically, our information indicates that during discussions, party members present their ambitions, which are relayed to the current faction leader Lilith Makunts, who then informs Nikol Pashinyan.

As Makunts is set to become the Armenian ambassador to the USA, lawmakers Hayk Konjoryan and Arpi Davoyan have expressed their ambitions for the faction leader position, even though Davoyan's candidacy is not entirely favored within the faction. Davoyan has even been considered as a candidate for the female Vice President of the National Assembly.

The other fierce competition is for the position of Speaker of the National Assembly, with candidates including Ararat Mirzoyan, Alen Simonian, and Suren Papikyan. They seem more inclined to believe that Ararat Mirzoyan will again be the parliament’s spokesperson.

Ruben Rubinyan, the head of the Foreign Relations Committee, could also become the Vice President of the National Assembly, as his candidacy for Minister or Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs has not been particularly well received, leading to a decision to settle for the Vice President seat for him. Meanwhile, Vladimir Vardanyan might lead the Foreign Relations Committee.

However, as noted, these are merely discussions within the team, reflecting the ambitions of the members of the CP. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is still quietly observing the events and is only in communication with Lilith Makunts,

reports the newspaper.
