Visit Artsakh, visit at least so that the 100 thousand Armenians living in Artsakh do not feel alone: Artsakh Ombudsman
The Ombudsman of Artsakh Gegham Stepanyan made a statement: “Dear compatriots, dear Armenians, dear people, it has been seven months since the day when our 30-year reality has completely changed its form. During this time of year, it was a time for our compatriots living in the Republic of Armenia, in the Diaspora, and for foreigners to discover Artsakh, to enjoy the untouched beauty of nature, to connect with the centuries-old Armenian and Christian culture. The country living under the constant threat of war at the same time provided spiritual tranquility to everyone, forever binding them to this land.
Much has changed... Today, there are many difficulties in Artsakh; the consequences of the war have deprived Artsakh of some of its former charm, but it has never lost its meaning and deep content. We have gone through the harshness of war, experiencing all human and inhumane sufferings during the 44 days, and unfortunately, we continue to feel them today...
But we are here, in the same place, with the hope of standing again... Together with all of you... Visit Artsakh, visit at least so that the 100 thousand Armenians living in Artsakh do not feel alone; your presence will strengthen and inspire the Armenians living in Artsakh to keep Artsakh forever Armenian.
I know that you have security concerns regarding visiting Artsakh, you are worried about the road, where at one point you have to see captured Shushi while restraining your anger, there are difficulties regarding the deadlines for granting entry permits to Artsakh for our compatriots from the Diaspora, but all this must be overcome for the sake of a paramount goal, for the sake of not losing Artsakh. Rise up and be courageous, they are waiting for you here...”
