Sea Breeze 2021 Exercises Kick Off in the Black Sea with Record Participation
The Sea Breeze 2021 exercises commenced today in the Black Sea. This year, the exercises involve the largest number of participants in history, with 32 countries from 6 continents joining in. These countries will send approximately 5,000 military personnel, 32 ships, 40 aircraft, and 18 special operations and underwater groups to participate in the drills.
During the exercises, various combat scenarios will be developed, including the landing of assault ships, cooperation during special operations, and more.
The NATO’s second permanent naval group is participating in Sea Breeze 2021. It is worth noting that last week, Russia urged the U.S. and NATO to refrain from holding the Sea Breeze 2021 exercises.
