Man Dies 10 Minutes After AstraZeneca Vaccination in Jordan

On Sunday, a 66-year-old man died shortly after receiving the second dose of the coronavirus vaccine at a vaccination center located on the campus of Jordan University, as reported by Petra, citing a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The man lost consciousness after receiving the second injection of the AstraZeneca vaccine while waiting in the post-vaccination recovery area, according to the statement. Medical staff attempted to resuscitate him before he was transferred to a hospital, where his death was recorded.

Health Minister Firas Hawari stated that the man had received his first injection on April 4, and his second dose was today, after a waiting period of 12 weeks. He added that the patient, who had previously contracted the virus, had been vaccinated early on and had not experienced any side effects from the first injection.

According to the minister, the side effects of the AstraZeneca vaccine, including thrombosis, typically appear not immediately after vaccination but rather around five days later. The cause of death will be determined through an autopsy, the minister noted.
