I regret that Marutyan had such a stance and did not openly support the CP: Arayik Harutyunyan
Currently, discussions are ongoing, and no decisions have been made. One thing I can say is that I will not be going to the parliament; I will remain in the executive. This was stated by the chief advisor to the Prime Minister, Arayik Harutyunyan, during the "Sunday Analytical Program with Hrayr Tamrazyan" on Azatutyun.
According to him, discussions regarding the future positions of other party members are still in progress. Harutyunyan also addressed reports that the ruling party is dissatisfied with Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan.
"I deeply regret that Mr. Marutyan had such a stance before the elections and, as a mayor nominated by the 'Civil Contract' and 'My Step' parties, did not provide clear and public support to the 'Civil Contract'. I regret this because the votes which led to Mr. Marutyan becoming the mayor of Yerevan predominantly belong to the force that is currently forming a government for the second time. At this moment, there are no discussions regarding the mayor in our circle; I can say this clearly," he said.
When asked if a clear attitude has formed towards Marutyan, Arayik Harutyunyan confirmed, saying: "Yes, there is such an attitude among party members, and we need to understand how to make decisions regarding this situation within the political force without harming the city and the municipal authority."
