Commander of Meghri Military Unit Returns to Work Today

The commander of the Meghri military unit, Argam Gevorgyan, returned to work today, June 28. This information was confirmed to NEWS.am by the mayor of Meghri, Mkhitar Zakarian.

The mayor did not provide any further details regarding this matter.

It is important to recall that an official inquiry had been initiated regarding the commanders of the Meghri and Mehrabi military units. According to the law on "Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel," the duties of Colonel A. Tadevosyan and Colonel A. Gevorgyan were suspended during the inquiry period.

The ministry did not disclose the reasons, but according to circulating rumors, the commanders were dismissed for refusing to secure votes in favor of Prime Minister Pashinyan.
