Hope in the Republican Party That Vanetsyan Will Not Go to Parliament

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that intense post-election developments are taking place in the "I Have Honor" alliance regarding who will take the mandate and who will apply for a waiver. Serzh Sargsyan wishes to send as many members of the Republican Party to the parliament as possible. He is not entirely satisfied with the current distribution, where out of a seven-member faction, four will be from the Republican Party and three from Vanetsyan's side.

It is worth noting that the candidates presented by Vanetsyan are former head of the Audit Chamber Ishkhan Zakaryan and former My Step MP Taguhi Tovmasyan. Arthur Vanetsyan said the day before that he too would take a mandate. Meanwhile, the Republican Party had hoped that Vanetsyan would not go to parliament, and their number would increase by one with the arrival of Gyumri's Martun Grigoryan.

They are now trying to convince both Taron Margaryan and Ishkhan Zakaryan that they are not suitable for the legislative body and that it would be better for them to refuse the mandates, allowing Tehmine Vardanyan and Martun Grigoryan to enter parliament instead. The issue is that Zakaryan has had problems with Serzh Sargsyan in the past and could become uncontrollable.

Meanwhile, the latter believes that by coordinating the entire electoral process, he deserves the mandate and is aiming to head the permanent commission allocated to the "I Have Honor" alliance.

It is noteworthy that there seems to be a compromise in the ruling camp regarding this issue, and it is highly likely that the second opposition force will be offered the economic committee, which is directly connected to the government. Zakaryan may establish contacts with the authorities.

As for who will be the head of the alliance's faction, there seems to be no disagreement here — it will be Arthur Vanetsyan.
