The 'Armenia' Alliance Issues Statement Regarding the Arrest of Armen Charents

The 'Armenia' alliance has issued a statement stating: 'The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction today granted the request of the Special Investigation Service regarding the arrest of Armen Charents, a member of the 'Armenia' alliance and the director of Izmirlian Medical Center.'

‘The 'Armenia' alliance, with Charents as number 20 on its electoral list, views the arrest of Professor Armen Charents as an overt political persecution, which is being executed against the largest opposition force in Parliament, formed immediately after the elections.'

‘With this and other actions recorded over recent days, the authorities have shown very clearly that they are committed to governing the country through illegal means and, in reality, undermining the state.'

‘The 'Armenia' alliance strongly condemns the arrest of renowned doctor Armen Charents and will do everything possible to restore justice.’
