Letter to be Sent to Prosecutor's Office Regarding the Assault on the Odzun Community Leader, Tatoyan

Today, the head of the "Armenia" alliance's headquarters, Armen Gevorgyan, contacted the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, informing that the head of the Odzun community in the Lori region, Arsen Titansyan, was summoned by the governor and was unconstitutionally pressured to resign, as reported on the Facebook page of Armenia's Human Rights Defender, Arman Tatoyan.

According to Armen Gevorgyan, the Odzun community leader refused to comply with the governor's demand, after which he was assaulted in the governor's office in the presence of 7-8 individuals for not fulfilling the request. Gevorgyan stated that in his opinion, the resignation demand presented to the Odzun community leader is clearly illegal and was accompanied by threats from the governor.

As per Gevorgyan, the assault on Arsen Titansyan in the governor's building is directly related to his support for their alliance in the extraordinary parliamentary elections. Immediately following the complaint, the Human Rights Defender's office quickly responded and contacted the Odzun community leader, who indicated that he was reporting the crime to the police.

The Human Rights Defender's office acknowledged the statement from the official representative of the Prosecutor's Office regarding this issue. A letter will be sent from the Human Rights Defender's office to the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the aforementioned complaint and incident tomorrow morning.
