Alen Simonyan as National Assembly President, Ishkhan Saghatelyan as Vice President: What Appointments Will There Be? 'Zhoghovurd'
On June 28, following the certification of the snap election results by the Central Electoral Commission, the formation phase of the National Assembly will essentially begin. After that, it will become clear which candidates from the ruling party will enter the parliament, who will receive positions, and which opposition candidates will refuse mandates.
After this, the work of forming the parliament will be carried out internally. According to the constitution, one of the three vice presidents of the parliament must be elected from the opposition factions. In this case, the chair of the opposition vice president will be allocated to the 'Armenia' alliance, more specifically, Ishkhan Saghatelyan will be the Vice President of the National Assembly.
The election of the Vice President of the National Assembly and the heads of the permanent committees will take place during the first session of the newly elected National Assembly. Permanent committees are allocated to parliamentary forces based on the D'Hondt method. Currently, there are 11 committees in the parliament; if there are no changes, the 'Civil Contract' party will receive 8 committees, the 'Armenia' alliance will receive 2 committees, and the 'I Have Honor' bloc will receive 1 committee.
During the first session, the President and Vice Presidents of the National Assembly must also be elected, who will be from the ruling faction. Currently, the probable candidate for the President of the National Assembly is Alen Simonyan.
