Statements by Certain Clergy Will Not Lead to Anything Good for the Majority of Armenia's People, Says RPA Spokesperson

Statements by certain clergy that insult and label the majority of the Armenian people will not lead to anything good. This was stated by RPA spokesperson Vahagn Aleksanyan on his Facebook page.

"I do not know what has compelled these clergy to support a specific candidate in these elections, nor do I know what drives them to hate the Christian Armenian people in this way. However, I believe that an urgent explanatory conversation should be held with these clergy. If this conversation does not serve its purpose, then these clergy should not have the opportunity to demean the name of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, which they do by insulting and cursing the people from their positions as servants of the Church. God protect the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, God protect the Republic of Armenia!" he wrote.
