Criminal Case Filed Based on Report by Odzun Community Mayor: Gor Abrahamyan
The mayor of Odzun, Arsen Titanian, has reported a crime committed against him to the police. This information was shared on social media by Gor Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia.
“The Prosecutor General has instructed that a criminal case be immediately initiated based on this report. Following the initiation, the criminal case will be urgently requested to be sent to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia according to investigative jurisdiction,” wrote the advisor.
Earlier, the 'Armenia' alliance had issued a statement indicating that they have already received numerous alerts from communities where the heads of municipalities were allies or teammates of the 'Armenia' alliance in the recent parliamentary snap elections. The alliance claims that in all these communities, mayors have been pressured with threats to resign voluntarily, a demand that has also been made to Odzun mayor Arsen Titanian. According to the statement, when he refused to comply with the governor's demand, he was beaten right in front of the governor's office.
