Turkey and the US Enter a New Era in Bilateral Relations on a Positive and Constructive Basis: Erdogan
Ankara and Washington are entering a new era in bilateral relations, declared Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, commenting on the outcomes of his meeting with American counterpart Joe Biden during the NATO summit held in Brussels on June 14.
"Turkey and the US are entering a new era in bilateral relations on a positive and constructive basis," President Erdogan stated in a televised address.
According to him, Turkey is ready to develop allied relations with the US and believes that, over time, all disagreements will be overcome. He added that Turkey's only demand is to respect its sovereign rights in all political and economic spheres and to support its fight against terrorist organizations.
Previously, Erdogan had accused Biden's administration of continuing to support the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is considered a terrorist organization in Ankara.
