Marukyan Proposes International Search for Azerbaijani Businessmen

The leader of the Bright Armenia party, Edmon Marukyan, has made a post on his Facebook page, informing that he has addressed the Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, proposing to initiate criminal cases and declare an international search for all major Azerbaijani businessmen residing abroad.

“As you know, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has issued an international warrant for Ara Abrahamyan, president of the Union of Russian Armenians, Samvel Karapetyan, president of the Tashir Group, and David Galstyan, president of Royalsys Engineering, claiming that the three Armenian businessmen organized the smuggling of various types of weapons by air between 2001 and 2021 to the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. According to the announcement, the criminal case was initiated on April 28, with Abrahamyan, Karapetyan, and Galstyan being involved as defendants and an international search being declared against them. The Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan has requested legal assistance from the relevant state bodies of foreign countries.”

“In this regard, I have addressed the Chief Prosecutor of Armenia, suggesting to initiate criminal cases and declare an international search for all major Azerbaijani businessmen residing abroad, who have in any way supported Azerbaijan's war criminal military-political elite, regarding the organization of war crimes against the civilian population and servicemen of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. This includes the continuation of those crimes after the cessation of hostilities, as well as the importation of arms into Azerbaijan in recent years, particularly during the 44-day war in 2020.”
