Protesters Demand Condemnation of Azerbaijani Aggression Against Armenia and Artsakh During Putin-Biden Meeting
During the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden, which began on June 16 at the 'La Grange' villa, Armenian and Swiss politicians, representatives of various organizations, and members of the Armenian community gathered in the square in front of the villa. They demanded that the leaders of the superpowers take practical steps toward the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and urged condemnation of Azerbaijan's blatant aggression against Armenia and Artsakh.
In an interview with an Armenpress correspondent, Swiss-based music producer Ani Gasparyan, who participated in the demonstration, stated that representatives of the Swiss government acknowledged Biden's use of the term 'genocide' and noted that the international community is waiting for further practical actions.
The protesters highlighted the horrors of the 44-day war in Artsakh, mentioning that Artsakh has lost human, territorial, and cultural values, while Azerbaijan continues to demonstrate aggression towards both the Armenian and Artsakh peoples, threatening their security. This is evidenced by the incursion of Azerbaijani armed forces into the sovereign territory of Armenia from various directions since May 12.
