What to Expect Today in Syunik: Nearly 2,000 Mobile Supporters to Accompany Pashinyan
As part of the pre-election campaign, the next stop for the government will be in the Syunik region today. In April, Pashinyan received a "fervent" welcome here, while previously he was unable to enter Syunik at all. Therefore, they have decided to do everything possible to prevent a repeat of that situation and have mobilized as many supporters as possible. Approximately 2,000 mobile supporters will be traveling to Syunik with Pashinyan, along with nearly a thousand police. All local government structures in Syunik are on high alert; the regional administration has been in turmoil for several days, and the heads of institutions under the administration are being subjected to literal terror, being pressured to attend Pashinyan's meetings with their teams and families, or face dismissal from their positions.
The heaviest burden falls on the police. All private passenger transport buses have been reserved to support the campaign efforts of other parties as well. Regional Governor Melikset Poghosyan has personally instructed school principals that the school community, along with students, should impressively welcome Pashinyan. In addition, yesterday the prosecutor's office issued a statement regarding the completion of the preliminary investigation against the mayor of Goris and sending the case to court. By the way, the first stop is in Sisian, followed by Goris.
