Everyone is scaring us now, but a war will not start, the Azerbaijani army is not that strong currently: Yuri Khachaturov

We are constantly being scared with war: a war will not start. This was stated by the former Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces and former Secretary General of the CSTO, Yuri Khachaturov, during a pre-election campaign in the town of Noyemberyan, Tavush region on June 13.

“Currently, the Azerbaijani army is not that strong; it has been significantly weakened after the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, suffering many casualties and injuries, and numerous equipment has been put out of service. They simply see that boys are standing in front of them and try to scare them,” he noted.

Khachaturov clarified that apart from those boys, there are also men who want to engage in equal dialogue with them and prevail. “In 1992, we defended Noyemberyan, we had several dozen rifles, while the Azerbaijanis were already well-armed, and under those conditions, we held those heights, we shed blood. They were afraid of us; we were not afraid of them. Now everyone is scaring that a war will start: a war will not start. Those who know what war is do not want it. However, those who have not fought and have not even served are the ones who are scared. We will not kneel before anyone; we will not apologize to anyone.”

He urged people to vote in favor of Robert Kocharyan.
