Colonel Hayk Petrosyan Calls for Political Powers to Keep Military Out of Political Manipulations
The Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Corps, Colonel Hayk Petrosyan, calls on political forces, current and former authorities, and the entire public to refrain from involving the Armed Forces in political manipulations and election campaigns. In a conversation with journalists in the Kut community, Petrosyan recalled that the army is a non-political structure.
“Today, our army is in its place, fulfilling its mission. The tasks of the Chief of the General Staff and the commander of the military unit are being properly implemented by the army,” emphasized Petrosyan.
According to the colonel, whether intentionally or unintentionally, all internal political processes affect the morale of servicemen. “I am a psychologist by profession and someone who deals with the psychological state of the troops. I can assure you that any political process in Armenia has an impact on the psychological profile of servicemen. Therefore, manipulating army themes directly undermines the authority of soldiers and officers,” concluded Petrosyan.
