VIDEO: "I will not sign any paper with that version" - Nikol Pashinyan on his relationship with Onik Gasparyan

Today, during a pre-election campaign in Achajur, the candidate from the Civil Contract party, Nikol Pashinyan, spoke about his relationship with Onik Gasparyan.

“You know that when I became Prime Minister, Onik was the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff with the rank of Major General. Later, upon my recommendation, he was awarded the rank of Lieutenant General, and during the war, the rank of Colonel General. When I recommended appointing him as Chief of the General Staff and we had a conversation, I told him, ‘Onik, do you know that I'm only afraid of one thing in this story: in my opinion, you have quite strong ties with the former authorities.’ He said no, there’s no problem, don’t worry,” recounted the interim Prime Minister to his supporters.

“I trusted Onik like a dear brother. I have never put his actions under suspicion,” he emphasized.
